WEST DES MOINES HOME RENOVATION

The first time we visited the space, the property had a whimsical essence. The natural english charm, a family of deer running through the backyard, and a ton of natural character. This home offered the perfect pallet for the end look and feel the client desired.

We focused our efforts on maintaining the character by leaving the ceiling treatments and natural wood floors intact. With some structural reworking of the floor plan, specifying finishes that are seemingly original, and paying close attention to millwork details the natural character was only highlighted and enhanced.

The kitchen suite was where a lot of the focus was put. The layout of the kitchen was quaint, but also functional. Because we didn't want to sacrifice those qualities we expanded a nearby pantry/laundry and customized with full height cabinetry, a coffee bar, and full powder room for guests that also had some privacy tucked away from the main kitchen space.

Beyond the coffee bar we were able to create a full mudroom complete with washer and dryer. A built-in hamper, classic finishes, and custom charging station helped the mudroom win the top award at Crystal Cabinets for the utility room category.

We were able to provide a main level laundry and mudroom for ease of transition home after a long days work, functional kitchen storage with bright and beautiful cabinetry and hardware, and a bathroom retreat rooted in traditional elements for a timeless appearance.
